Q: Where do I find drivers for my RAID controller?
A: Navigate to our Drivers and Downloads section at the top of this page and click on the link for your controller to download the latest drivers and configuration tools.
Q: What slot does the raid card go into?
A: Any full size slot will do, but for best performance the controller needs to be in a x16 slot. These are slots 1 or 2 on the Mac Pro.
Q: Which slot does the SAS cable plug into on the card?
A: Either port A or B works.
Q: I have a failed drive. What do I do?
A: Do not shut off your CPU or your raid storage - this is a hot swappable solution. Simply take out the bad drive, wait 10 seconds, and slide your new drive in. It will begin to rebuild automatically. Any problems, call your sales rep or Maxx Digital support at 714-374-4944.
Q: My Maxx raid won't mount. What should I do?
A: First shut down your computer, then turn off your RAID enclosure. Check all cable connections and make sure all connections are plugged and clipped in tight. Power up you raid storage first, and then power up your computer. Still having issues? Contact Maxx Digital support at 714-374-4944.
Q: There's a loud alarm coming from my computer with the REVO 1882X. What should I do?
A: Do not shut off your CPU. Navigate yourself to your Firefox browser. In the address bar type "localhost:81" and push return or enter. On the left, navigate to your RAID controller and click on it. A drop down menu should appear asking for your user name and password. Type "admin" for the username and "0000" (four zeroes) for the password. Once there, navigate to the system preferences menu on the left hand side of the screen and click on the "view events/mute beeper" link. The alarm should stop. Click on it one more time and it will give you an activity log for events happening to the Maxx raid. In this log it will show if you have a failed raid, failed drive, failed power supplies, temperature control, and so on.
Q: Edit Vault won't mount. What do I do?
A: Check all cables first. Power cable, connection to CPU: USB, FireWire, or eSATA. Notice the front of the edit vault. There are two lights: green light is for power and the orange light is for activity. If you are not seeing any activity contact Maxx Digital support at 714-374-4944.
Q: I am getting a pop up that says, "The disk you inserted is not readable by the computer." What does this mean?
A: This means that the drive you have connected has not been formatted. In this case, you will need to go to your disk utility and select that drive. Go to the Applications folder, select the Utilities folder, then select the Disk Utility app. On the left, find the drive you just inserted. Select the partition tab. Where it says current, select 1 (note: if you desire more than one volume, select it here). In the options menu below, "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". Title your volume(s) and apply it. You should now see all of your volumes on the desktop and also in your disk utility. Problems? Contact Maxx Digital support at 714-374-4944.
Q: What if I ordered a product and I need to return it?
A: Maxx Digital's return policy is 7 days from delivery date, and all returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Cancelling any online order more than 5 days from date of purchase is also subject to a restocking fee. Including products that have not yet been received.
